Magnetising the Grid

Flush Fitted Magnet Bolts:

  • The T2 Grid accepts flush-fitting magnet bolts at 25mm centres, each bolt holds up to a 15 × 2 mm magnet.

  • Install magnets across the grid where required. All bolts are fully demountable, allowing you to adjust magnet size, strength, and layout to suit your army.

  • Magnet-to-magnet contact provides strong retention in transit, magnets don't actually touch making them easy to release when needed.

  • If T2 Core Threaded Bases are used then a stabilising bolt can also be used instead of magnets, this is useful with larger models.

Configure to suit different miniature sizes and weights

Populate the grid positions to match the weight and footprint of your miniatures. Increase magnet density for heavier models, reduce it where less hold is needed.

Magnet bolts are flush-fitting and fully demountable, allowing the layout to evolve as your army changes.

Precision-fit inserts for the boxes you already own

T2 Grid System can be custom-built to fit a wide range of Really Useful Box sizes. The lift-out tray gives unrestricted access at the table, while the handle design locks the tray against the lid during transport.

Pre-configured builds for popular box sizes will be included in the Kickstarter - or create your own ideal layout from scratch.

Systainer Compatible

Durable. Built to travel.
Systainers are tough, stackable, and globally available — making them an ideal housing for the T2 Grid system. Build a precision-fit insert that locks securely in transit while remaining fully lift-out at your destination.
Pre-configured builds for popular systainer sizes will be included in the launch files.

Organise more than miniatures.

The T2 Grid System can also be configured to organise game boxes and component storage. Create a modular layout inside the original box, or magnetise sub-containers to the grid for easy removal during play.

T2 Grid System FAQs

What Cases does the T2 Grid System fit

T2 Grid is designed as a precision-fit insert for the cases you choose to use, including Systainers, Really Useful Boxes and toolboxes. You size and configure the grid to suit the internal dimensions of your case. The only requirement is a primarily flat base, or the ability to create one. A full build video will be released closer to launch.

No I need to build it from scratch?
No. We'll deliver a number of pre-planned builds to meet most needs. these will be Really Useful Boxes and Systainers because these products are available globally and they are in standard sizes. If you were to assembly any of these you would see how you could take the system and create a bespoke insert for any case of your choosing.

Is this a carry case?

No. T2 Grid is a 3D printable case insert system that installs inside a case of your choice. Commercially available cases are typically tougher and offer greater variety, which is why the system is designed to work within them.

Do I need a large printer?

No. Any FDM printer will work. Grid sheets connect together, so bed size does not limit overall system size. All other components fit on a MINI-sized bed.

Do miniatures need to be magnetised?

Yes, for standard use. The system is optimised for magnetised miniatures using flush-fit magnetic mounts.

If using T2 Core Bases, a printable bolt can also mechanically fix a model to the grid. This is typically used for vehicles and larger models where maximum stability is required.

The grid can also be used for organising game components, magnetised or not, depending on the application.

How strong is the magnetic hold?

Magnet strength depends on the magnets selected. The flush-fit bolt system accepts magnets up to 15 × 2 mm, allowing the hold to be tuned for different miniature sizes and weights. Because this is magnet-to-magnet contact, strength is combined betweenthe two which in practice means that magnets don't have to be that strong.

Must I use the T2 Core Bases?
Not at all. Any magnetised base will do.

Can the layout be changed later?
Yes. The grid is fully configurable. All parts are demountable with no glued components, allowing you to reposition, remove or upgrade elements over time.

Is it difficult to assemble?

No specialist tools are required. The system is designed for straightforward printing and assembly using standard 3D printing equipment.
